Health Equity

Orange County Health Disparities Initiative (OCHDI) addresses health disparities through community engagement and mobilization focused on improving access to care.  OCDOH is partnering with Community Voices Heard and Catholic Charities to convene listening sessions focused on issues surrounding access to care. The community will be able to openly discuss their experiences, concerns and barriers for a healthier community. The partners will gather information from the Listening Sessions and create an action plan based on the input and needs of the community.  OCHDI will form a planning committee consisting of diverse stakeholders and community members.  The members will be representative and reflective of the City of Newburgh. The committee will develop and implement a Community Intervention and Sustainability Plan that identifies community identified health priorities.
